Data & Assessment
Data and assessment are constantly being used in my classroom so that I can track my students' progress and use this information to inform future instruction. Over my career, I have created several assessments and exit tickets that I use to collect student data. These quick check-ins provide meaningful data that help me identify each student's current level of mastery, pinpoint skill gaps, and intentionally group students for targeted small group instruction.
Examples
Math Exit Ticket Exit ticket used to quickly assess student understanding of math concepts at the end of a lesson.
Phonics Assessment Assessment used to evaluate students' phonics skills and inform targeted small group instruction.
Q1–Q3 LA Small Groups Documentation of flexible student grouping across quarters, tracking student progress and using data to adjust group composition and targeted instruction.
