Home-School Connection

Families are their child's first teacher and establishing a home-school connection is such an important piece of a child's educational journey. I start every school year by sending a "Meet the Teacher" letter to my future students' families to help establish comfort and put a face to my name. During Open House, I love providing families with a letter that details how excited I am to welcome their child to my classroom. During this event, I also send a packet home for families to complete that allows them to detail information about their child that they would like me to know. Not only does this help to make a positive first impression but also allows me to make positive and personal connections sooner with my students. Finally, I send weekly newsletters home, which include a personal note from me, a list of what we accomplished and learned throughout the week, important reminders and upcoming events, as well as how families can support their students' learning at home.
