Math Instruction & Centers

MathDifferentiationPlanningStudent Engagement

I believe students understand math concepts best through hands-on and engaging lessons. By incorporating movement, utilizing math manipulatives, and creating anchor charts, my students have a variety of ways to engage in the lesson and master the material. My lessons begin as a whole-group and then are followed by math centers and small-group instruction. During center time, I differentiate instruction to best meet my students' current academic levels.

Math Centers Math centers are a part of our daily learning routine. Each week these centers are rotated to align with our curriculum and directly practice the skills we are learning that week. During this lesson, students were practicing teen number sequencing, counting by tens, and counting on from tens using ten frames.
