First and foremost, modeling is at the center of everything I do. I provide examples of respectful and kind interactions, self-regulation, and the overall tone I want to see in my classroom. I believe that all behavioral issues are teachable moments where I can support students' social-emotional development and get them back on track for a fun day of learning with practices such as Conscious Discipline, PBIS, and Zones of Regulation. I also use a star jar as a whole-class incentive in which we add stars for positive behavior, teamwork, and celebrate with a class reward once the jar is full.
